Women’s Success Series 2018-2019 – Carla Birney

November 2 @ 7:30 am

The Women’s Success Series brings together women of all ages who seek better lives, professionally and personally. The series is intended to be a catalyst for women to think differently about success, a catalyst to think differently about themselves, and a catalyst to think differently about how they live, work, and play in Tuscarawas County. During each breakfast session, participants will hear from a dynamic woman who has enjoyed a measure of success right here in Tuscarawas County. Prior to each session, participants will have a book to read or a TED Talk to view that will enrich the discussion to move them to the next level in life.

Driven by her passion for children and learning, Carla Birney leads the Dover City Schools staff and community as Superintendent. Originally hired as a kindergarten teacher in 1989, this year marks her 31st year working with Dover Students. Throughout the years, she has also been the Elementary Curriculum Coordinator and Assistant Superintendent. Among her various responsibilities as Superintendent, Carla watches over Dover students as they succeed in the classroom, in fine arts activities, and on the athletic field. Carla is currently working with district employees, community members, architects, and construction managers to build a $47.9 million modern learning environment for Dover High School students.
