Mary Ann Mast, 79, of 7945 Fredericksburg Rd., Fredericksburg, died Tuesday morning, Aug. 24, 2010 at her home following a 6 month period of declining health.
She was born Jan. 4, 1931 in Holmes County, the daughter of the late Albert and Katie (Yoder) Stutzman, and she married Dan D.J. Mast on Dec. 7, 1950. He preceded her in death on Nov. 1, 2006. She had lived in the Fredericksburg area most of her life and was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Surviving are 4 sons, Albert (Sarah) Mast and Aden (Verna) Mast both of Fredericksburg, Dan Mast Jr. of Post Falls, Idaho and Perry (Erma) Mast of Fredericksburg; a daughter Miriam (Leroy) Burkholder of the home; 17 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers, Eli (Sandra) Stutzman of Sugar Creek , Levi (Ida) Stutzman,...

Barbara S. Hershberger, 23, of 6951 Zuercher Road, Dalton, died Monday afternoon at her residence.
Barbara was born in Stark County on January 23,1987 to Samuel and Lydia (Stutzman) Hershberger. She was a school teacher at the Jericho School in Apple Creek. She was a member of the Old Order Amish.
She is survived by her parents, maternal grandmother, Lovinia Hershberger of Dalton, maternal grandparents, John L. and Katie Stutzman of Apple Creek, brothers and sisters, Danny (Ada) Hershberger of Fredericksburg, Joseph (Miriam) Hershberger of Apple Creek, Amanda Hershberger, Anna Hershberger, Menno Hershberger, Katie Hershberger, John Hershberger, Andy Hershberger and Aaron Hershberger all of the home.

Betty Hendrix, 85, of Wooster, died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2010, at Sycamore Run Nursing Home in Millersburg.
She was born Jan. 18, 1925, in Holmes County, to Ernest L. and Vera Marie (Bevington) Yockey. She married Lewis Hendrix on Aug. 7, 1943. He died May 9, 1969.
Betty worked for The Wooster Brush Company for 24 years, retiring in 1987. She enjoyed playing bingo, dancing and traveling to Las Vegas.
She will be deeply missed by her children, Linda Kosier and Edward (Debra) Hendrix, both of Shreve; a daughter-in-law, Linda of Wooster; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and sisters, Helen Taggert and Patsy Price, both of Wooster.

Amanda E. Troyer, 88, of 8450 T.R. 561, Holmesville, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday afternoon, August 25, 2010 at the Walnut Hills Nursing Home.
Amanda was born October 28,1921in Apple Creek the daughter of the late Ezra and Lovina (Miller) Chupp, and she married Dan B. Troyer on December 23,1943. He preceded her in death on July 9,1994. She had lived most of her life in Wayne County and the past seven years in Holmes County. She was a member of the Old Order Amish.

Betty C. Reynolds, age 61, went to be with her Lord on Friday, Aug. 27, 2010, following a sudden illness.
She was born on Sept. 28, 1948, at Akron, to the late Robert J. and Lillian M. (Dennison) Dobbins. She graduated from Coventry High School, Akron, and graduated from Kent State University at Kent with a Degree in Education. She retired in 2000 from East Holmes School District after 30 years of teaching, where she taught at the Walnut Creek Elementary School and Winesburg Elementary School. She had also worked for the T.L.C. Travel Agency at New Philadelphia.
She was working as a volunteer “Character” guide for Z.C.A.’s Historical Zoar Village, Zoar. And she enjoyed taking cruises with her husband and playing the fiddle.

Helen M. Garner, age 95, a longtime Leesville resident, died early Thursday morning, Aug. 26, 2010, in the Hanover House at Massillon.
She was born Sept. 20, 1914, in Bellaire, and was the daughter of the late Charles W. and Helen Allen Scott. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cyril Garner, who died Oct. 27, 1972; one son, Robert Garner; and five brothers.

Printie L. Boron, 96, a resident of The Pines at Canton, formerly of Strasburg and Dover, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2010.
She was born at Dundee, the daughter of the late Charles A. and Matilda J. Lauer McCoy, and had been a life resident of the area.
She had been an aide/caretaker and was a member of the United Methodist Church at Strasburg.
Printie was preceded by her husband, Ed Boron, Feb. 10, 1970.
She is survived by three daughters, Myra Weigand and Wanda Ward, both of Canton, Donna Francis of Massillon; two sons, William Boron of Albuquerque, N.M., and Dale Boron of Waynesburg; one brother, Charles W. McCoy of Olympia, Wash.; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Myron Jay Amstutz, 82, of Kidron, died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2010, at his residence.
He was born near Kidron on Oct. 7, 1927, to the late Albert and Della (Gerber) Amstutz and married Gladys Mary Lehman on March 19, 1950. She survives.
Myron was employed at Gerber Wood Products for more than 40 years, and with his wife served in Mennonite mission work at Crockett, Ky., from 1955-59. He was a deacon and elder at Sonnenberg Mennonite Church for 42 years and was currently attending Living Water Community Church. He enjoyed singing in the men’s quartet, gardening, and raising purebred collies. He volunteered at MCC Connections since its beginning, weaving more than 3,000 rugs on a loom.
