Members of Sugarcreek Council approved, after a third reading, the 2019 pay ordinance that included pay raises for all.

“We want to get this taken care of,” noted Councilman Jeff Schrock, chair of the Personnel Committee. “It is important to reward our employees with proper rates of pay to retain good employees.”

Council Lloyd Crilow abstained from the vote as his wife is Becky Crilow who serves as the Fiscal Officer for the Village of Sugarcreek. Rates of pay for the mayor and members of council were increased as part of the ordinance. However, neither will see the raise as elected officials are prohibited from granting themselves raises mid term.
New rates include: Mayor – $17,500 ($15,000); Members of Council $5,500 ($5,000). These increases would go into effect on January 1, 2020.
