A downtown Sugarcreek business was broken into sometimes between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.

Sugarcreek Police Chief Kevin Kaser said the perpetrator forced entry on three doors at the medical office of Dr. Phillip Teague located on Broadway across from the Sugarcreek Fire Station.

He noted that entry was gained in both the upper and lower levels of the building. “There was forced entry on the side as well as in the basement,” Kaser explained.

Kaser went on to state that there was very little, overall, disturbed in the building. “They did get away with a small amount of cash, less than $50,” he explained.

Sugarcreek Police believe those who committed the crime were probably looking for narcotics. “I’m sure they saw it was a medical building and were hoping to find something, but this is a doctor’s office,” Kaser shared.

Investigation continues into the case. If anyone has information about the crime or saw something unusual, they are urged to contact Kaser immediately at 330-852-2212. “We really urge people to give us a call anytime they see something,” he emphasized. “If you see something, say something, right away.”
