“While we’ve experienced both the ups and downs of the RV industry this year we have been incredibly blessed with lots of positive growth,” said Joe Mullet, President of nuCamp RV of Sugarcreek.
“The personal growth of our team and what we’ve been able to produce together is very exciting. We are still ahead of last year’s production,” said Mullet. Sales for the first half of 2018 are up 36 percent compared to the same period in 2017. nuCamp RV provides employment to 205. More than 100 joined the team in 2017 with 20 more in 2018. All operations, including manufacturing, marketing, and distribution are in-house. There are nine newly-created positions currently available.
Recent investments include solar power installed by a local company, and the purchase of a CNC Edgebander, the first in all of North America. A total of 3.5 acres of land, adjacent to the current facility, were recently acquired with expansion plans slated for the next 12 to 18 months.
Two new campers are set for release. A short bed camper fitted for a half-ton truck is set for Fall 2018, and a full-sized travel trailer for Spring 2019. nuCamp RV’s second annual customer event, uCamp18, held in July was sold out six months in advance. Hundreds of nuCamp enthusiasts visited the Holmes and Tuscarawas County areas.
“This year has made us a more solid company, especially in personal growth, and sales are on the rise again. We are still the industry leader in teardrops and niche products for the RV world,” Mullet said.
