When it comes to cool, refreshing water, quality is always important. Students at Ragersville Elementary not only requested quality but needed something a little different.
The search began for a new water fountain that not only dispensed water by the gulp but could also easily fill water bottles without much fuss.
The ideal unit was located but, with a price tag of nearly $1,000, students were dismayed. However, they rolled up their sleeves, and, with the help of the Ragersville Parent Teacher Organization, funds from an annual event were earmarked. Hence, Troyer’s Trail Bologna and cheese Christmas boxes paved the way to water nirvana.
The new unit was installed at Ragersville Elementary last week and has already been racking up the number of bottles filled that won’t end up in landfills.
Principal Jeff Williams noted how proud he was of not only the students but the parents and the community who supported the objective. “It is great to work with people who see a goal and make a plan on how to get there,” he said. “I’m very proud of all of them.”
