Budget Sports Team report

For Head Coach Mark Schlabach, a seasoned veteran of the boys basketball program at Hiland, it is time to get down to business.

“We are going to need to play at a faster pace this year because of our lack of size,” Schlabach shared of the team that is returning a total of five letter-winners. “It is a good group of coachable kids.”

Returning lettermen include Scott Troyer, Kobe Troyer, Damien Kandel, Andy Miller and John Sisson. According to Schlabach, Kendall Hochstetler will be one to watch.

The season, the new IVC will give the team competition from start to finish. “The usual games with rivals like Garaway and Strasburg should be really good games,” Schlabach said. “Our game with John Glenn at our Holiday Showcase will be a very challenging game for us as well. Our main goal is to be playing our best basketball at the end of the season.”
